[Article on Dolly Parton] "For someone so tiny, it's amazing how she is so larger-than-life. I have met Al and Tipper Gore and all the major movie stars in Hollywood, but I was nervous when I met Dolly. She is totally sweet and everything you would expect." Carson Kressley.

The Vancouver Courier, 12/12/2006
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’s Carson Kressley hosted a fabulous cocktail party at the Bay downtown in honour of Thierry Mugler’s winning perfume Angel. The reality star, make-over maven and equestrian (who knew?) mugged for the cameras and signed autographs for adoring fans at the in-store schmoozer in support of B.C.’s Children’s Hospital. Broadcasting live from Pacific Centre, CBC Radio One hosted its 20th annual Food Bank Drive. Listeners and mall-goers donated nearly half a million dollars to make life more manageable for thousands of B.C. families in need of extra help with food this holiday. Business Objects employees were particularly generous filling the food bank stocking with a sizeable cheque for $88,000.

To out or not to out? That was the question at the ninth annual Cracked Christmas comedy fundraiser for the Trevor Project, which operates a suicide prevention hotline for gay youth (866-488-7386). [...] "Hopefully when celebrities come out, it will inspire other people to do so," said the evening's host, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Carson Kressley. He later said, "I've got to get busy welcoming Neil Patrick Harris and T.R. Knight to the gay community."

New York Metro, 11/6/2006
It’s not gay marriage, exactly, but last week’s decision by the New Jersey Supreme Court to require the state to create a legally viable same-sex union caused some confirmed city folk to wonder, How bad would it be to be a Jersey commuter? So we popped the question to a few gay men: "No sales tax on clothing, and now gay marriage?!! Hello, Weehawken!" —Carson Kressley.

Gossip Blog Wars, 10/13/2006
The story: Page Six mistakenly printed a picture of Carson Daly for a story about Carson Kressley.
The combatants:
Celebrity Hijinx says: Carson, Who?
Popsugar says: Wow, Carson sure looks different
A Socialite's Life says: Is this Carson Kressley?
Best Week Ever says: Page Six slams Carson Daly from behind
Dlisted says: I didn't even notice
Who said it best: If a picture is worth a thousand words, then I guess Page Six is the winner here (and be sure to check out the lovely picture of Carson Kressley they put up when they fixed the error).

The New York Sun, 10/2/2006
As celebrities milled about the DKNY store on Madison Avenue last Thursday for the Gilda's Club Young Leadership Council benefit, attendees had plenty of opportunities to have a good time, including the chance to indulge in a 20 percent discount on every item in the store. Yet while the event catered to the general public, its goal was to provide services to a more specific group of people: cancer patients and their families. The organization was founded by psychotherapist Joanna Bull in memory of "Saturday Night Live" comedienne Gilda Radner. "Gilda's Club is a place where men, women, and children with any kind of cancer can come and receive support for free." [...] A member of the cast of Bravo's "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Carson Kressley, also shared his experiences. "One of our producers came in and said, ‘Guess what, guys?'" before announcing that she had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Mr. Kressley said. "It's not like you get cancer and you die," he added, explaining why emotional support is critical for those with severe illnesses.

New Jersey Star-Ledger, 9/14/2006
A Heatherette show means celebrities, spectacle and more drag queens per capita than is typical in Manhattan's Bryant Park. "It's always fun," says Carson Kressley, the fashion guru from Bravo's "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy." "Sometimes it's a better show in the audience than on the runway." [...] The collection itself managed to make the same trends that look ridiculous from more serious designers -- bubble skirts, knickers, lots of metallics and bling -- young and fun and almost wearable, for the most part. The white shirt dress with the jeweled collar? Cute. The long-sleeved short-all printed with multicolored letters and numbers ... for men? Not so cute. "I am a child of the '80s, so I love all the nostalgia ... except bubble skirts," Kressley says. "Will they just quit with that already?"

In a particularly amusing turn of events, Bruce [Vilanch] and I were joined on the dance floor at Provincetown’s Crown and Anchor by Carson “Queer Eye” Kressley. Onlookers seemed to think it was a regional meeting of the Gay Mafia!

The Boston Herald, 9/7/2006
“Queer Eye” fab fashionisto Carson Kressley and his boytoy du jour desperately wanted a table at the packed Red Inn in Provincetown the other night, but found that being banished to the bar wasn’t so bad. The trendy twosome cooled their heels in the lounge where they began chatting up a lively straight couple. “Oh, they were having a high old time with Carson flirting with the guy and the wife dishing out advice and playing with Carson’s clothes,” one bar spy told the Track. The foursome ended up dining together when a table became available. And when it was time to go home, Carson was overheard telling the gal, “OK, come to my room around 2 and you and I will switch.” Replied the missus: “Sounds fine - as long as I get to clean out my closet,” she laughed. But would her husband come out of it????

The Louisville Courier-Journal, 8/30/2006
Several readers have written "The Buzz" to dish about Carson Kressley's latest venture to the River City. The avid equestrian made quite an impression at the World's Championship Horse Show Friday evening at the Kentucky State Fair. "He looked stunning," said Louisville resident Kathy Schmitt, who was drawn to the "Queer Eye" star's "beautiful white sport coat with red coral beading and a silk shirt in pink tones with a complementary tie with pinkish-orange hues."
"We're going to have to offer him an honorary key to the city -- he keeps turning up in the Ville," added Suzie Ziegenfuss, whose daughter and her pals got their pic taken with the approachable Kressley, 36.

You already knew Carson Kressley is fabulous. Now he's working to get fitter too. The "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" fashionista has hired Louisville trainer Kevin Talley to whip him into shape. Talley, 33 -- he's the one who turned down Playgirl's Man of the Year award this past winter -- is the owner of ReadyGoFitness.com and says he plans to have Kressley, 36, hit the weights. "He always talks about his skinny arms on the show," Talley said. "We'll give him a better upper body."

Swagtime Blog, 7/26/2006
We snapped this shot of fashion-maven Carson Kressley at the gift lounge at the 2006 Miss Universe pageant where he served as a commentator. He picked up this shirt, read the words written on the shirt out loud, "Got Balls?" and without missing a beat finished the breath with, "I've got two matter of fact." So wondering what this shirt is referencing if not, ahem, the balls Carson was referring to? Actually, the shirt comes courtesy of Coolballs™, makers of those funky antenna balls. I picked up the "Cool Wicked Witch" just in time for Halloween...so glad I got mine in time. Phew!

AZNightBuzz, 7/24/2006
[Miss Universe Report] But after I’d fast-forwarded through the first few minutes, I realized that I hadn’t skipped through a Queer Eye commercial – someone had indeed found the balls to hire Carson Kressley as a host. So, of course, I rewound and listened to most of his commentary. I won’t try to recap. I’ll just give you some highlights:
"There’s a fine line between shiny and sweaty. And she has crossed it".
"I think I’m switching teams. I know she’s supposed to be neutral, but …" (about Miss Switzerland.)
"How about her Trinidads and Tobagos?" (About Miss Trinidad & Tobago.)
"I love her because she looks like Cher."

WorldNet, 7/24/2006
[Miss Universe Report] Providing commentary for the program were Carson Kressley, a homosexual who stars on the Bravo network's "Queer Eye," and 2004 Miss USA Shandi Finnessey. At one point in the program, when Finnessey was promoting a beauty guide viewers could order, Kressley said, "It'll tell you how to be a true queen. A beauty queen." During analysis of the finalists, Kressley noted, "I also loved Miss Puerto Rico. Again I have to confess I was looking at her dress, I was kind of mesmerized." "You want to borrow it, is what you want to do," Finnessey responded. Regarding some of the contestants' ability to speak more than one language, Kressley also clowned he was ready to become "bi-," but then jokingly clarified he meant "bi-lingual." In the end, Miss Puerto Rico, 18-year-old Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza, won the competition and was crowned Miss Universe 2006, while Miss USA Tara Conner was fourth runner-up. "I'm ready to switch teams for [Miss] Puerto Rico," Kressley swooned.

USA Today, 7/24/2006
[Miss Universe Report] Several of the contestants sported costumes featuring colorful native dress, including feathers, sequins, fur, massive headpieces and, in the case of Miss Japan, a Samurai sword. "They were probably afraid not to pick Miss Japan or she would use that sword," quipped Carson Kressley of TV's Queer Eye, who provided commentary along with 2004 Miss USA Shandi Finnessey.

Lexington Herald-Leader, 7/24/2006
Kentucky's own Tara Conner will not be Miss Universe, but being Miss USA isn't such a bad job, either. [...] During the swimsuit competition, the skybox commentators, Carson Kressley of TV's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey, commented on Conner's home state. "I love Kentucky," Kressley said.

The Baltimore Sun, 7/18/2006
[Article on the trend of guys going shirtless for summer] "I'm fine with guys not wearing their shirts in public, as long as they are licensed underwear models. All others should avoid this practice," said Carson Kressley, the fashion expert on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. "If I want a roll, I'll go to the bakery."

The New York Times, 7/17/2006
[Article on WNYC's new building] Guests will wait in an actual green room, not out in the hall at the water cooler. And with less cumbersome security requirements than at the Municipal Building, should he agree to revisit, Carson Kressley of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” would probably not be late for a radio interview — as he was a while back — because of panic that his large, spiked belt contained explosives.

The 13th Annual Pride in the Park, which celebrates gays, lesbians and transgendered people, was held Saturday in Allentown with sponsorship from an increasing number of local and national firms. The festival at Cedar Beach, which went until 9 p.m., had live music and a visit by Carson Kressley, star of TV's ''Queer Eye for the Straight Guy'' and a 1987 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School.

Fashion Week Daily, 6/16/2006
Carson Kressley was the life of the party at the bash for Danny Seo's book, "Simply Green: Par ties," at the Stella McCartney store on West 14th Street the other night. After sampling the mojitos, the "Queer Eye" guy collided with a mannequin dressed in $2,000 of merchandise, nearly knock ing it over. "Oh, man! She is so wasted," quipped Kressley, who also got a kick out of calling sponsor Country Home maga zine "Country Ho" all night.

The Boston Globe, 6/16/2006
The novelty of it was undeniable. For two nights, flamboyant pop musician Rufus Wainwright would be re-creating the 1961 concert Judy Garland performed at Carnegie Hall, just eight years before she died of an accidental overdose. The blue ticket stub read ``Rufus Wainwright in Concert," and then right below it: ``Dedicated to Judy Garland." [...] And, yes, the night was an absolute scene, from David Byrne seated right beside me to Peter Sarsgaard escorting a very pregnant Maggie Gyllenhaal to the ladies room. Oh, and there was Carson Kressley (surprise!) in a plaid blazer casting his queer eye on a gaggle of men near the stage, and, later, Laurie Anderson (sans Lou Reed), Tony Kushner, and a demure (and also pregnant) Beth Orton quietly leaving the theater. Outside, Sarah Jessica Parker waved to fans from behind her limo as Kristen Johnston stood beside her puffing on a cigarette, and Norah Jones practically went unnoticed as she chatted with friends.

Our town's Cabanne Schlafly was in New York on biz a couple weeks ago when she called her pal Carson Kressley to have a drink. Instead, he invited her to a ball at the Met in honor of Queen Rania of Jordan. The queen and her husband, King Abdullah, are drumming up support for an animated Jordanian television series, "Ben and Izzy," aimed at fostering better relations between Middle Eastern and American children. Schlafly said she tossed together an outfit of Carolina Herrera slacks with a vintage top and vintage earrings. She and Kressley strode in down the red carpet where the paparazzi peppered them with questions. When Kressley carefully enunciated Schlafly's name, the pencil and paper set was dumbfounded at trying to spell it. The couple sat with Deborah Norville and her husband, Karl Wellner, and some of the project's financiers from Dubai.

Carson Kressley — The "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" fashion savant was, of course, fashionable and chatted about his Barnstable Brown Gala attire: "I was feeling very Armani, but it's not Armani," he said. "It's Paul Smith. It's actually like the United Nations of fashion — a little bit of everything. A little Ralph (Lauren), a little Paul (Smith), a little Kenneth (Cole), and the shoes I got in Vegas."

Deputy Glitter!” Carson Kressley, of the TV show “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” said, trying to recall the name of his pick. “Doesn't that sound like a gay cop? If you're wearing a bad hat, "I need you go report to Deputy Glitter immediately." I don’t know. He just sounds fun.”

Also Sunday we swung by Splash for the Aid for AIDS benefit, where guests were urged to donate their old HIV meds for recycling. We stuck around long enough to see cabaret crooner Marty Thomas belt out the Dreamgirls standard “And I’m Telling You, I’m Not Going.” But after wrapping the song, he did go - right over to xl for his one-night-only Divas Live show. Lying hussy. Things were going great until host Carson Kressley apparently took the bar’s name to heart and splashed the crowd with god-knows-what beverage from behind the bar. Not the first time we’ve been squirted on in public, but who’s counting?

From Queer Eye stars to singers to poet queens, more than 2,000 people joined Fort Lauderdale's AIDS Walk Sunday, raising funds for prevention and treatment of a disease still on the rise in Broward County. "I never thought I'd see so many comfortable shoes and like it," said Carson Kressley, sartorial sage of the hit program Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, before kicking off the event. Kressley's co-star Jai Rodriguez also attended, along with singer Deborah Gibson, poet-activist Jessica Care Moore and actor Hal Sparks. Visiting from New York to support the walk, Kressley thanked organizers and local police: "Did you notice how hot the police force is here?" he said. "Even the elected officials are cute and that's not common."

Tell us, queerly eyed fashion guru Carson Kressley, whatever should we wear to a benefit for the Boys & Girls Club, an organization devoted to providing a safe place for kids to have safe, supervised fun and companionship, so as to keep them away from the temptations of gangs and drugs? A t-shirt with an enormous, sequined pot leaf? Brilliant. Thanks!

The New York Post, 3/17/2006
Carson Kressley, of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," was thinking of how Isaac Mizrahi groped Scarlett Johansson at the Golden Globes when he posed for photographers the other night with actress Joyful Drake at the Self Magazine/VH1 Most Wanted Bodies party at Stereo in Chelsea. Kressley joked that maybe he should give a squeeze to the ample chest of the star of the upcoming "Phat Girlz" movie.

[Project Runway finale] Queer Eye for the Straight Guy star Carson Kressley said the show's popularity stems from a perfect pairing: drama and fashion. ABC News, 3/5/2006
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Carson Kressley said the Oscars reached a high point last year. "Halle Berry, 77th Academy Awards — 75th and 74th all pretty good — 77th was the best," he said. "Understated in Versace with hand-diamond-encrusted shoes. Hello, she was a model and knows inherently what works. … Pastels could be seen again this year — possible trend." "The guys should keep it simple," Kressley said. "This is Hollywood's most elegant night. Creative black tie is an oxymoron, and when male stars try to get creative it usually turns out bad — like Johnny Depp's sky blue satin lapels." [...] Kressley recalled a few other Oscar horror stories. "Celine Dion — white man's suit on backwards … looks like a couture straight jacket," he said. "Bjork's swan dress: Need we say more? Whoopi Goldberg — not sure when it was from — purple ball with green lining and pants underneath. It goes from daytime to munchkinland in one simple change." [...] Kressley said to look out for shorter hemlines with a vintage feel. "Channeling Audrey Hepburn could be a look for darling Reese Witherspoon," he said. "Backless — very dramatic without being too revealing. See Hillary Swank from last year. This is a good look for a lot women and I think we will see a lot of. I think we will see a lot of white, blush and metallics and pastels. Strong colors like red were everywhere at the [Golden] Globes, so I don't think we are going to see it here. Red can also age an actress more than bad makeup." He predicts there will be a lot of vintage jewelry: "More Liz Taylor and less P. Diddy." Hair, he said will be "up and goddess like."

The date is set for March 11.
