Gadding about the horse show

Saddle up. Let's take a ride through the sights and sounds of the 70th annual Lexington Junior League Horse Show and Gala. The six-day competition wrapped up yesterday.

On Monday night, Carson Kressley strolled through the crowd at The Red Mile, looking hip and tan and hugging old friends.

A longtime competitor in the Lexington show, the "fashion savant" from Bravo's Queer Eye will tell you he was in stirrups long before stirring up the style sensibilities of the straight man. "I've been doing this since before I could shop," the Pennsylvania native quips.

So what does this fashion plate -- an eye-catcher in his pink shirt and boldly patterned black-and-tan pants -- have on his plate these days?

He's shooting a movie with John Goodman, launching a clothing line in November and traveling to the Philippines to promote Queer Eye, which starts season five this fall. "Lexington, Manila, same difference," he jokes.

Actually, he thinks our fair city's pretty special. "There's nothing like Lexington," says Kressley, who keeps a horse in Versailles. "This is the best horse show of the year."
